Leeds Teaching Hospitals is the largest teaching hospital in the UK and employs over 1800 doctors. We are currently restructuring our HR service to provide a dedicated Medical Staffing/Workforce team to support the business objectives of the organisation and are looking for highly motivated, flexible and hard working people to join the team.   The successful applicant for this post will be responsible for supporting the Medical Workforce Manager/Lead in the delivery of the Trusts Medical Workforce Strategy. They will provide day to day administrative support to the Medical Workforce Manager/Lead and maintain reporting and monitoring systems to allow ease of access to all aspects of Medical Workforce work.   The post holder will assist with or lead in the development of documentation and information relating to Medical Workforce work programmes/ projects, for example project plans, communication plans, risk and issues management. They will also maintain information relating to Medical Workforce work programmes/ projects and produce up to date reports for Divisional and Corporate teams.  Additionally, they will also provide supervision for the junior doctor monitoring reporting process to external organisations and contribute to supporting the Trusts wider Medical Staffing/workforce agenda. There is a need for flexibility around working hours to meet fluctuating demands in the service. Applicants should have previous experience in an administrative role, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision as well as be part of a team. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work to deadlines and communicate well with a wide range of people including hospital-based staff are essential. Excellent computer/keyboard skills including a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and experience of using databases, are also essential.

The Trust has a 12 month opportunity for an experienced project manager to work alongside our Medical Staffing Team to develop medical staffing services across the organisation. This is an exciting time to join the Trust as we move into the second of two new hospitals and embark on a period of major change. If successful you will be responsible for establishing and implementing a robust infrastructure to support the General Medical Council’s Medical Revalidation process. In addition you will review all internal processes within medical staffing services, identifying and implementing the most efficient ways of working. You will have previous experience of working in a complex, unionised environment. Knowledge of appraisal, recruitment processes and workforce information systems would be an advantage. You will have proven influencing and negotiating skills and will be able to evidence experience of establishing new systems and new ways of working in previous roles.
